We have been learning to write an explanation. We were writing about the life cycle of a frog because a student in our class brought some tadpoles into our class .
Life Cycle of a Frog What are frogs? Frogs are small amphibians that are green or brown. They are slimy special creatures that have four legs and two eyes and some frogs are small or they can be big. Frogs can live in water or on land. There are three stages in the life cycle of a frog. First, frogs lay their eggs, second, the frogs eggs hatch, third, tadpoles turn into frogs.
Eggs stage The eggs get laid by a female frog in a pond because on land they would die because the sun would dry them up but most frogs lay their eggs in a pond. The frogs eggs are orange or grey with a black speckle in the centre with jelly around it that protects it. The black speckle is the tadpole.
Tadpole stage It takes about a week for the frogs eggs to hatch. When the frog eggs hatch they will have a tail but no back legs or no front legs. They are very small black or brown tadpoles. The tadpoles little they start growing more into a frog, they grow their legs and front legs.
Frog stage The tadpoles get their front legs and their back legs and their tail shrinks and turn into a frog. They turn into baby frogs and go hop onto land.
Opinion In my opinion of the life cycle of a frog has three stages: eggs, tadpoles, frogs.
